In Manitoba, the Family Doctor Finder program will find you a doctor in your area based on your needs.

You can apply for this service online or over the phone.

Eligibility

  • 16 years or older

Online:

    1. Decide what your needs are for your referral. This includes:
      • Preferred area/community Preferred language
      • Gender of your doctor (female, male, non-binary) Provider type (doctor or nurse practitioner)
    2. Find your Personal Health Care number (on your Manitoba Health card).
    3. Complete the online application (opens in new window)

Pharmacare

In Manitoba, the Pharmacare program provides discounts on your prescription medication(s) based on your income from the previous year.To apply, you have to complete your taxes.

Pharmacareapplications must be printed, filled out and mailed, faxed or dropped off at their Winnipeg office.

Eligibility

  • Be 18 or older
  • Have a Manitoba Health card
  • Completed your taxes from the previous year.

How to apply

  1. Decide if want to enroll for your lifetime or apply each year. 
      • If you choose the one-time (lifetime) application, this gives the Manitoba government permission to get your income earned from your last tax return each year and automatically adjusts your eligibility.
      • If you choose the annual application, then you have to submit your Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency every year.
